Toasted Marshmallows and Bonding!

We may not be singing around the campfire this year, but that didn’t dampen the spirits of our Year 7 girls at King’s High who have had a wonderful day bonding! We began by welcoming Alex from The Self Esteem Team, who focused on mental health, resilience and body image, and had the girls in fits of laughter at times! A super start to the day!

‘Getting to know you’ games were great fun and included jigsaw puzzles, rhymes, and human dominoes. Then it was onto ‘Form Zoo’ where the girls made fantastic animals from fruit! We were amazed by some of the creations! They really did look too good to eat.

Following in tradition, we still enjoyed toasting marshmallows around the most wonderful, atmospheric campfire, complete with Dr Barwell on guitar. Afterwards, the girls wrote poems before it was onto another activity – orienteering!

A super time was had by all in St Nicholas’ park before the winning team was crowned, followed by a delicious picnic lunch with ice cream back at base.

The last activity of the day was games, run by our PE staff, which gave everyone the opportunity to bond even further. The smiles on the girls’ faces said it all.

We had such a wonderful day with you, girls and wish you the warmest of welcomes to the start of your journey at King’s.
