Café Scientifique

After a wonderful year for Café Scientifique last year, we are pleased to introduce the new Café Scientifique team for 2025-26! The team this year consists of Chair – Simran and Secretary – Florence, with Rebecca, Poppy and Anandiya on the Newsletter team. Shahmeen and Ellen are our publicists, Abigail is our KS3 Coordinator, Emily is our KS4/5 Coordinator and Arabella is the Engineering Officer.

We are very excited for this upcoming year and are planning many events and activities where like-minded pupils can share their love for science in all its wonderful variety. We are determined to help our King’s community continue to enrich their scientific knowledge and develop their enthusiasm for such a fascinating subject. This year, we have decided that each term we will centre our events and newsletter around a key value of the school. This Autumn term, our focus is ‘Collaboration’, with our corresponding newsletter theme ‘Connected’. We took this as a perfect opportunity to strengthen our teamwork skills; working together, we planned and ran an engaging KS3 Slime making workshop. We also joined in with the Festival of Changemaking, running an exciting Kahoot Quiz on the STEM Changemakers in the science corridor. We plan to continue to host fun activities, like these, throughout the year according to each term’s theme. In Spring term, our focus will be ‘Curiosity’ (aligning with this year’s British Science Week theme) and in the Summer Term, we will explore ‘Imagination’. So, watch this space for exciting opportunities to come!

If you have any suggestions for Café Scientifique, or questions about what we are doing, please don’t hesitate to contact Mrs Sims.
