Cambridge Chemistry Challenge Awards
King’s girls have achieved no less than 8 awards in the Cambridge Chemistry Challenge, ranging from copper to silver.
Known as C3L6, the traditionally difficult challenge is set by Cambridge University for Year 12 Chemistry students, and differs to conventional A Level examinations, with the emphasis being on applying knowledge to unknown scenarios, and using data and unfamiliar content.
This year, the grade boundaries were much higher than ever before, so huge congratulations are due to every girl who took part. We have been competing in the Challenge for around 10 years, and this year was one of our most successful to date.
The superb news follows our success in the Chemistry Olympiad in January this year, which is predominantly for Year 13 students. And, in preparation for the next, we have two current Year 11 girls (Year 12 in September), focused on the next Olympiad.
