King’s High has been designated a 2019 Showcase School for the Diana Award charity – one of four schools selected nationally.  The Diana Award was set up in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales, and is supported by her son, HRH The Duke of Cambridge.  The charity promotes young people, through its mentoring, anti-bullying, and online safety programmes.  King’s High pupils elected to train with the Diana Award, then set up their own Cyber Mentors and Wellbeing Ambassadors in school.  Students from every year group are involved, and King’s pupil, Gigi serves on the Diana Award’s national youth board. 

A Diana Award film crew visited school, to capture some of the work students have organised: from arranging Speed Friending, New Pupil Breakfasts, and setting up a Wellbeing Club, to organising creative and digital campaigns, giving on line safety talks to pupils and parents, and delivering the Diana Award’s Be Strong Online project across the school. Pupils will receive the award, and present the film at Facebook HQ in London, before a distinguished audience.
