Founders and Benefactors' Service at St Mary's, Warwick

The King’s High and Warwick Prep school community gave thanks for 140 years of education, in a splendid Founders and Benefactors’ Service at St Mary’s, Warwick.  The Bishop of Warwick, Right Reverend John Stroyan, gave the Address, and the service was attended by the Lord-Lieutenant of Warwickshire, Timothy Cox;  High Sheriff, Simon Miesegaes, and the Mayor of Warwick, Cllr Richard Eddy.  Pupils recounted King’s High’s history, from the first days, when 22-year-old Miss Fisher opened her school for 22 girls on Smith Street, to the forthcoming move to the new King’s High this September.  Time capsules, prepared by the girls, received a special blessing. A particular highlight for many was the beautiful singing of Amazing Grace (in a different arrangement from usual) by Warwick Prep Senior Choir, accompanied by King’s High’s musicians.
